EndNote 20 Basic course

1. Introduction

With EndNote you can:

  • Maintain a database ("library") of literature references.
  • Import references from bibliographical databases, reproduce references from PDFs or enter them yourself.
  • Link PDFs or other documents to the references and annotate PDFs.
  • Import references from EndNote in your own text and choose the layout according to a certain style like Vancouver, Chicago, MLA, APA etc.
  • Sync and share (groups or) libraries with colleagues.

How to get hold of the software?
The Radboud University has a license for her employees and students. The program is available on Radboud supported workstations on campus.
RU staff with a workstation (desktop or laptop) can directly install EndNote from the Software Center (Windows Start » All Programs » Software Center).

Extra:

  • FNWI students: students of the Faculty of Science can download EndNote from C&CZ's install-site when on campus or connected via VPN.
  • Radboudumc employees: EndNote can be requested via the ICT service desk, to be installed on the RadboudUMC account. If they would like to have the program on their own laptop, the installation program can be found on the network drive W (W:\Servicedesk\Software) or it can be placed on a USB stick at the employee plaza, route 528.

EndNote is available for Windows and MacIntosh.
In this module Version 20 for Windows is discussed.

In this module we often use the menu options at the top of the program.

A toolbar for the most used commands is also available.
