Subject search

If you want to retrieve items on a specific topic you can search by subject in the search bar using the search key su:

Getting a lot of hits? Use the left-hand menu filter options to refine your search.

We do not recommend using the filter Academic Discipline.

Clicking the Advanced Search link (top left, underneath the RUQuest logo) takes you to a form that allows a more controlled search.

  • On the left side choose Subject in the drop down box.
  • On the right side enter your search terms.

Using Phrase is not recommended: you will lose relevant results. Use quotation marks when looking for a fixed phrase of multiple words.

Click on the title of an item to view the details. If an electronic version is available at Radboud University, click on Access Online, View full text or View eBook (the name varies). You will be led to an online platform where you can access the digital publication.

Having problems accessing the publication? Please get in touch. Use Ask Your Librarian or visit your nearest library location.

Please look in the libguide tab Book.

Please look in the libguide tab Article.

Available in another library in The Netherlands

If a publication is not available at the Radboud University, and it says At Libraries in the Netherlands, you can request the publication through the interlibrary loan (ILL) system, using the red button Request item other libraries. You can look for publications in other libraries in the Netherlands using the Library Location filter. There might be a charge for requesting a book through ILL. More information on this webpage or in this guide.

Requesting an item from outside The Netherlands is often possible as well, please see the page Request outside RU (ILL). However, this might take a long time and cost a lot more; you might consider submitting a recommended purchase.
