You open Zotero via the icon on start menu or desktop:
Now you can create a new library or new collection or open an existing one under My Library.
You can do this via File (top left of the screen).
If you create a new one, it will appear under My Library.
More about libraries:
- A Zotero database with literature references is called “My Library”.
- You can create a New library with a New Group ... or a New Collection... with a New Subcollection ...
- Zotero always opens with My Library and your created libraries and (sub)collections.
- A library is just a file on your PC under C: Users/U/S/E/Z-number/Zotero (See als edit - Settings - Advanced - Data Directory Location)
- It is good practice to back up your Zotero library regularly (preferably on another disk) This can be done easily via File – Export library... - Format - OK or make a copy of the Zotero folder.
